Maia Table
SUMMER 2017 | 30”H x 76”W x 76”D
Made from maple veneer, cherry, and baltic birch plywood. The Maia Table takes its name from the client who commissioned it. I initially had some reservations about designing a dining table. Transitioning from a sculptural base a utilitarian tabletop often forces aesthetic compromises. I wanted the flow of the base to continue unarrested up throughout the tabletop and evoke a sense of airiness not often found on the scale of a 10-person dining table.
